About Us

Our Objectives

WOSITA Foundation is a non-profit and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) created under the Association Act 2022 of Seychelles. It is operating exclusively for charitable, benevolent, scientific, educational, or cultural purposes.  It is an independent, voluntary, non-partisan, and non-discriminatory body engaging with all women and girls of Seychelles.

It aims to promote networking (social and professional), and engagement of women in Seychelles for:

  • Advancement of leadership and promotion of success stories (including awards and incentives).
  • Encouraging women in entrepreneurship.
  • Exchanging and sharing experiences and know-how with other women and the youth of Seychelles
  • Support mentoring and career advisory schemes; support capacity-building initiatives to empower women.
  • Encouraging sustainable practices and supporting the development of such initiatives.
  • Providing support to women needing assistance with innovative projects.
  • Promoting health and wellness.
  • Providing community support to each other (sharing burdens and triumphs).
  • Advocacy for gender equality and other issues of concern for women and girls.

Our Core Values

Winning trust and respect: We will ensure that the association plays an important role in the economic empowerment of women in Seychelles to drive membership engagement and loyalty.

Objective driven: We will bring awareness of the objectives and values of the association to all members and interested partners to better cultivate the environment of trust and motivation.

Our Code of Ethics

“Trust is the lifeblood of an NGO – trust by the public, trust by the media, trust by the government, trust by corporations, trust by donors, trust by other NGOs, trust by beneficiaries, and trust by its employees and those who volunteer their time” – WANGO 2004.

Members and staff alike are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional and personal conduct.

The deliberations of the Committee meetings, any financial information or otherwise of the Association, and personal information of members, donors, partners and/or collaborators shall remain confidential and not to be shared with the public.

WOSITA Foundation endeavors to respect the rights of each member and commit to foster cultural diversity and pluralistic values.

We shall ensure that any information disseminated to the media, policy makers or the public will be accurate and up to date.

We respect and value the diversity of experiences, knowledge, skills, cultures, and identities of all members and the communities we serve or partners we engage with.

WOSITA Foundation is an association promoting engagement of women and girls in Seychelles, whilst also recognizing and appreciating contributions and participation of gender champions.

As members of the Association, we aim to support each other, understand and share the feelings of those around us, treat each other with respect, and compassion.

Members shall disclose any institutional affiliation that might result in a conflict of interest.

All members shall not exploit any relationship with a donor or prospective donor for personal benefit or the benefit of any relative, friend, associate, colleague, etc.

Funding

WOSITA Foundation shall be funded by:

  • Donations
  • Sponsorship
  • Fundraising activities and events
  • Grants and Subsidies
  • Membership Fees

All books and records shall be kept by the Treasurer as per the local Laws and Regulations.

An auditor shall be appointed each year (currently approved under Resolution by the Executive Committee as being Pool & Patel)

No ordinary member should solicit funds on behalf of WOSITA (refer to Code of Ethics).
